Baby Basics

The Baby Basics program is open to first-time mothers for whom English is a second language and may have trouble understanding complex medical terminology regarding their pregnancy. Through this program the goal is to increase a mother’s literacy level in regards to prenatal care by providing easy-to-read informative materials.

Guidance is also offered to mothers from Healthy Start Health Educators who conduct home and clinic visits to provide mothers with encouragement and advice about how to make healthy choices during their pregnancy.
